Clearblue Ionizer
The Clearblue Ionizer plumbs directly into your pool’s return line. A mineral cell threads into a tee fitting in the plumbing, and a digital controller mounted nearby continuously regulates the output. As water passes through the cell, it releases copper, silver, and zinc ions: copper controls algae growth, silver targets bacteria, and zinc helps protect pool surfaces from scaling and staining. The controller maintains consistent ion levels regardless of cell age or changes in water chemistry, and the cell features a self-cleaning design, which minimizes the need for manual electrode maintenance.
Clearblue is registered with the EPA and Health Canada as a sanitizing device. It’s the only pool ionizer with that dual registration. According to Clearblue’s documentation, the system can reduce chlorine usage by up to 90%, though a residual oxidizer is still required. The mineral cell typically lasts six months to one year, depending on usage and settings. Clearblue works with fiberglass, plaster, and vinyl liner pools. Warranty coverage ranges from one to six years, depending on the model, and doubles when the system is registered within 90 days of installation.

Nature2 Fusion
The Nature2 Fusion is an in-line unit for inground pools that combines a mineral purification cartridge with a built-in automatic chlorine tablet feeder in a single housing. It installs into the pool’s existing filtration plumbing and is compatible with virtually all inground filtration systems. Inside the cartridge, silver and copper mineral technology works to control bacteria and algae, significantly reducing chlorine demand. According to Nature2, the system can allow chlorine levels as low as 0.5 ppm, a level at which chlorine odor and skin irritation are typically not noticeable.
The DuoClear mineral cartridge is replaceable every 6 months and available in 3 sizes based on pool volume. The feeder chamber accepts standard 1-inch or 3-inch chlorine tablets. Nature2 uses Controlled Release Technology to maintain optimal mineral levels, and the unit is rated to 50 psi. The system is NSF approved and carries a one-year limited warranty. One important note: Nature2 can’t be used with biguanide-treated pools without a complete drain and refill first.

Our pricing structure is straightforward. All products purchased through Desmond Pools & Spas during a new pool installation have the labor rate waived entirely. For products installed after a new pool build or as service replacement parts, the rate is product price plus $60 per hour. If you bring in a system we didn’t supply, the labor rate is $120 per hour. Buying and installing through us can be the most cost-effective path.

A sales representative comes to your property, reviews your pool setup, and walks through which system fits your situation. Full-service maintenance is available year-round, including pool openings and closings, so the relationship doesn’t end at installation. Pool Electrical
Desmond Pools & Spas doesn’t perform or sub-contract electrical work. Electrical is priced and paid directly to the electrical contractor. Suggested contractor: Michael Devers Electrical Service.
Standard electrical pricing without obstacles:
- First 50 feet: $2,500.00
- Every 25 feet after: $250.00
All prices listed are estimates, not exact prices. All electrical work is covered for one year from the installation date. All parts and products used by the electrical contractor are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
Pool Engineer
In many cases, only a licensed or registered engineer has the authority to take legal responsibility for engineering work or projects. Regulations may require that only a licensed or registered engineer can sign, seal, or stamp technical documentation such as reports, plans, engineering drawings, and calculations, or carry out design, analysis, repair, servicing, maintenance, or supervision of engineering work, processes, or projects. Pool Permits & Inspections
All permits are submitted by the owner, and inspections are coordinated by the contractor.
Pool Plumbing
Desmond Pools & Spas provides a one-year warranty on all plumbing installed by Desmond Pools & Spas.
Pool Landscaping
Standard landscaping is priced per area. Estimated pricing is as follows:
- Rake and seeding: $1,500
- Retaining walls: Cost based on height, length, and material. Estimated 30-ft. wall, 2 ft. high: $4,000
- Topsoil, rake, and seeding: $2,100
